Of course, I have now had to do these tasks for myself - not difficult LOL.

What tasks or jobs were the responsibility of your ex partner and how have you coped with doing these tasks yourself..........

Well I am out tonight to celebrate the new year with my firends, which will entail plenty of drinking and dancing.

Here's hoping whatever you all do, is a good one and 2009 will be a good year for us all......

My good fortune has already started, received letter today from my solicitor to confirm my decree nisi was approved and all my costs to be covered by my ex, which will be good news for him in the new year (NOT).

I would also like to thank my many dear friends I have made over the last couple of months on this site, you have been my lifeline in getting me through this nightmare and make me feel positive that things will get better...you all know who you are..XXX

With all the excessive eating and drinking over the christmas period (and no other calorie burning exercise avaiable - lol) spent the morning at the Gym, did a good workout and then 40 lengths of the pool, had a nice sauna and a quick 10 minutes in the steam room.

Always hate the prospect of going, so much effort but always feel so much better for doing it......

Always a bit of a lull after christmas, hate sales so always avoid the shops so a nice relaxing afternoon..........might even do some ironing, another chore - lol

Day started later than normal for me as my boys did present giving with their dad so I stayed in bed.....out of the way. He then left as promised.

We had a lovely day, knowing he would not be coming back I could relax and just enjoy the day with my boys who are absolutely great, they are both growing into very nice young men. Of course, they played their respective game consuls while I prepared the dinner, which has to be said (especially for my standards as not a lover of cooking) was very nice.

My dad also came over for dinner as he is also been on his own, we all sat round the table which does not happen often in our busy lives, ate loads of food, had a few drinks and laughed lots and did the normal thing of winding my dad up, he has no sense of humour at all, but does take it in his stride.

The only downside, was my dishwasher is broken but both my boys did the washing up and drying which was a sight for sore eyes as not seen very often, even took photo's just to remember and as my dad pointed out when it was suggested their was no complaints they just did it.

We then all sat down and watched a movie on TV, mainly because no one could move for the next couple of hours and dozed.

Feel my year has ended so much better than when it started, had sleepless nights worrying I could not give them the same christmas we have had every other year but feel proud that I got through it.......

Boxing Day today which is the rest of the family, see my mum and her new husband, have 3 sisters and a brother with all their partners and children all descendig round one of my sisters, which usually means lots of eating, drinking and silly games and when we are all nicely merry Sing Star usually comes out as we all pretend we can actually sing so should be fun.....

To all my friends who I have met face to face as well as those chatting on-line.

I am now ready for christmas Turkey bought, humungous amounts of food, enough to feed an army. Presents wrapped and under the tree.

Finished work today so a day of rest tomorrow until the big day but glad I have my sons, who are absolutely brilliant and we are so much closer since the split and they tell me they love me every day which is all good as not been a good year for them either.

My life is a good one, loads of people in alot worse position than me and have to be grateful for what i do have and no more dwelling on what may have been but looking to what I have going forward.
